The wait atop the cliffs above China Bowl at Vail Resort was tenuous at best. The clouds hovered low over of Mount of the Holy Cross and the surrounding peaks all day. It didnÕt appear they would lift before the sun set. And sure as the day is long clouds lifted for a few minutes as the sunÕs rays filtered through the edges of the clouds filling the atmosphere with a beautiful glow.
A Nikon FE2 35mm camera with a 24mm lens, F-Stop f-22, shutter speed at 1/2th of second and Fuji Velvia Film (ISO50) were used to capture the starburst of the sun and the Holy Cross Wilderness.
