I was on the road to Bear Lake during a snow storm at the height of the fall colors in Rocky Mountain National Park when my eye was drawn to the stand of Aspen in the Mist struggling against all odds thriving in boulder field. Walk into the boulder field made it evident the strength and formidable fortitude these trees exemplified. Their colors shown vibrant and brilliant against their moorings in the rock field as it did the snow squall drifting by. A Pentax 67II Medium format camera with a 55mm lens, F-Stop f-22, shutter speed at 2 seconds and Fuji Velvia Film (ISO50) were used to capture aspen in the rock field and snow squalls mist.
