A late afternoon hike was planned for a sunset visit of Delicate Arch in Arches National Park. Moving directly to the east of the arch I setup to wait for the sun to set directly behind it’s pillars in hopes for some atmospheric drama as sun darted down past the western horizon. Amazingly, a fast-moving fog bank in blew creating this powerful, misty and eerie scene—the sun set as fast as the fog bank moved in. Woah!

A Pentax Medium Format Camera with a 55mm lens set at F22 with shutter speed at 4 seconds on Fuji Velvia ISO 50 Film were used to capture this rare moment of Delicate Arch!
